What is Fascia?
Fascia is made up of collagen, which is the gluey, gooey, cellular matrix that binds tissues together. It is one continuous structure that exists from head to toe. Like the yarn in a sweater, it is a woven structure which covers and interpenetrates every muscle, bone, nerve, artery, vein and all of our internal organs.
The body, may be made up of separate parts, but our fascia connects them as one.

How do Adhesions Form?
A lifestyle of limited physical activity, improper posture, repetitive movement that overworks one part of the body and trauma such as surgery or injury create these adhesions. Restrictions in movement are a result of the adhesions in the fascia which when healthy, should slip and slide allowing for free movement in our bodies.
